Karl Thomsen

Coach Karl’s first exposure to lacrosse was at the college level while a student at Yale University. 10 years later, he found himself coaching alongside Gary Buczek and Nate Sprong at St. Xavier High School. Moving to the Bay Area in 2014, he coached 9U, 10U, 12U, 14U and High School lacrosse for the Walnut Creek Warriors, Alcatraz Outlaws. 4Core Wolverines, Encore Lacrosse, Northgate High School and De LaSalle High School. In addition to coaching year around, he also served as President of the Walnut Creek Warriors, Board Member for the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association and founded a youth lacrosse program aimed at providing opportunities to play for families that could not afford Bay Area Lacrosse prices. He has been very fortunate to learn and coach alongside some of the very best players and coaches – Connor Buczek, Griffin Buczek, B.J. Grill, Matt Bond and Johnny Christmas. While not coaching Lacrosse, Coach Karl spends his time as an entrepreneur with companies in the software and credit card processing verticals. He is married and the father of 4 children and is thrilled to be back in the Queen City coaching for Resolute Cincinnati.
