Dave Ames
Dave is from Boston, Massachusetts where he played high school lacrosse in the highly competitive ISL for Rivers School. He was a captain and first team all-league. Coach Ames played D2 collegiately for Bentley University where he was the runner-up for rookie of the year in the Northeast-10. Dave transferred to Arizona finishing his career as a 3x WCLL All-Star & team captain.
His coaching career began at Arizona State & Chaparral High School before moving to Ohio. Ames was the inaugural head coach at Westerville North taking them to a D3 Final Four in only their 2nd season. As the Assistant Head Coach at Dublin Jerome High School from inception to 2016, the Celtics went to 7 state championships, winning 3. Coach Ames was twice named the USLacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year (2010, 2012.
In 2015 he founded the Hilliard Predators to coach his sons and in 2018 the program, playing a strictly ‘A’ schedule went undefeated.
Dave coached for Team Ohio in the Brine National Classic from 2013-2017 and won the event in 2016. He coached for the Midwest Team for Under Armour in 2011, 2012, and is currently the head coach of the 2025 Burn group since 2020
Ames is currently the Head Coach at Hilliard Davidson High School where he’s led them to their first 2 regional final appearances in 2022 and 2023. Ames was named OCC, Region, US Lacrosse Central Region, and State of Ohio Coach of the year in 2023.
Dave lives in Hilliard with his wife Stacie and their sons Kaden, 19 who plays for Elmhurst University & Vance, 16 who plays for Hilliard Davidson.
